Amelia Island Realtor Mary Pitcher was born and raised in Northwestern Iowa, then lived in Northern California before migrating to the Continental USA’s Southernmost City of Key West where she spent 25 years prior to landing in Fernandina Beach a little over 6 years ago.
Mary has a long history in the world of Florida real estate. She was the Association Executive for the Key West Association of Realtors for 9 years then segued into Residential Mortgage Lending where she was a top producer for over 15 years and ended up as Vice President and Manager of a Residential Lending Department for the largest Community Bank in the Keys.
Amelia Island Community Involvement. When Mary arrived on Amelia Island, she immediately got involved in the Community. Some say she "jumped in with both feet" as evidenced by her awards and accolades. Mary was honored by the Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach/Yulee Chamber of Commerce as the "Volunteer of the Year" and the "Ambassador of the Year" in 2008. She was also awarded the "Affiliate of the Year" by the Amelia Island Nassau County Association of Realtors in 2008 and again in 2011.
Mary continues to give back to her community by serving on many local non-profit Boards including Leadership Nassau, Council On Aging, WIN/WIN (Women In Nassau Helping Women In Need), NACDAC (Nassau Alcohol Crime Drug Abatement Coalition), and the Amelia Island Book Festival, just to name a few. She also serves her community by providing financial counseling for Habitat For Humanity homeowners and the Cedar Haven Transitional House.
Mrs. Pitcher lives in Fernandina Beach with her husband, David and their three Chinese Crested dogs. She enjoys reading, painting, boating and orchid growing in her spare time.
